How to Use This Book

This is the complete guide to Bindle, and it is also a book you can practice on. It lives in Books, next to any books you add, and it works like them: your place, your highlights, and your notes sync to every device in your circle.

Read it straight through, or open Contents and jump to what you need. Chapter 18, the Settings Reference, lists every setting with its choices and default.

Practice as You Read

Most of what Bindle does with articles it also does with books, so this book is a safe place to try things. Look for the boxes headed Try it. Nothing you do here touches your saved links.

Contents and Footnotes

Open Contents from the reader's toolbar to see every chapter and its sections. A chapter ends with a Next button, and the top of a chapter has a way back to the previous one.

Some details sit in footnotes, so the text stays short.1 Tap the small number to read one, then close the card or choose Go to Note to jump to where it lives.

Listen to It

Bindle can read this book to you, one chapter after another, in a natural voice that runs on your device. See Listening for the voices and the player.

New Editions

The book is updated with the app. When an update brings a new edition, Bindle adds it to Books in place of the old one. If you highlighted or wrote notes in the old edition, Bindle keeps that copy too, archived, so nothing you made is lost.

The book needs Books to be on, in Settings > Reading > Books. If you deleted it, choose Open Everything in the Bindle in the same place to get it back.

What This Book Can't Do Yet

Books are not part of search, Ask Your Library, collections, tags, or exports yet, so neither is this one. To find something, use Contents. Every setting is listed, section by section, in the Settings Reference.
